Shaylie Kearl
Occupational Therapy
Shaylie Kearl is pursuing her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at the University of Utah. She earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science from Utah Tech University with an emphasis in pre-occupational therapy. She grew up in Spanish Fork, Utah, and currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors and in the water, boating, wakeboarding, paddleboarding, hiking, hunting, traveling, and spending time with her husband.
She has a diverse professional background. Working as a pediatric dental assistant, she developed a passion for helping pediatric patients and their families. Working as a physical therapy aide in acute care and outpatient settings, she gained experience with teamwork and collaborating on an interdisciplinary team. Currently, she is a nanny for two young girls, one of whom has Down syndrome and complex medical needs. From her professional experience, she has a passion for the pediatric population and the healthcare field.
Passionate about the pediatric population and maternal health, Shaylie desires to become a pediatric and postpartum OT. She looks forward to connecting with various health professionals from different specialties through the URLEND program and gaining advocacy skills to serve children with special needs and their families.
