Clinical Psychology

Kate Breitenfeldt is a fourth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at the University of Wyoming. She earned her M.S.. as part of her current program and holds a B.S.. in Developmental Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to graduate school, she wore many hats including coordinating clinical research studies at the University of Illinois and the University of Pittsburgh, interning with a non-profit supporting adults with developmental disabilities, working as a Montessori preschool assistant teacher, and serving as a personal support worker and advocate for an adult with disabilities.

Kate is passionate about collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to expand access to affirming, evidence-based care for neurodiverse populations. As a URLEND trainee, she is eager to enhance her skills in cross-disciplinary care and leadership, aiming to promote more integrated and responsive services for individuals with neurodevelopmental differences.

Outside of her academic and clinical work, Kate enjoys spending time with her loved ones, sipping chai lattes at local coffee shops, and trying out new crafty activities. Usually, when Kate is home, her 19-year-old cat Lily can be found curled up beside her.
