Janice Palumbos, MS

Genetics

Janice C. Palumbos has been a genetic counselor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah since 1983. She trained at Cornell University and the University of California, Irvine. She has a longstanding interest in children and adults with developmental disabilities, particularly rare chromosomal and genetic disorders. She is a faculty member and clinical supervisor for the University of Utah Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling. She has also served as consultant to the Utah Birth Defects Registry and as board member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors.

Research interests include the genetic etiology of congenital hearing loss and the natural history of genetic developmental disabilities. She works in the Medical Genetics Clinic, Neurofibromatosis Clinic, Hearing Assessment Clinic and Spina Bifida Clinic.
