Gretchen Gimpel Peacock, Ph.D.

Gretchen Gimpel Peacock is a Professor of Psychology and is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Clinical Excellence at Utah State University. Dr. Peacock earned her BA from the College of William and Mary and her MA and PhD from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Peacock has been a faculty member at USU since 1995. She previously served for 9.5 years as the Department Head in Psychology and 1 year as the Interim Department Head in Kinesiology and Health Science. Dr. Peacock currently serves on the program faculty of the School Psychology PhD and EdS programs; she served as program director of the School Psychology program from 1997-2009.

Dr. Peacock’s research and teaching interests are in the area of child behavior problems (such as ADHD) including parent/child interactions. Dr. Peacock supervises students completing applied experiences with the Up to 3 (Early Intervention) program and has previously supervised numerous graduate students who completed clinical practicum hours in the Psychology Department’s clinic providing intervention services to children and families in the community. Dr. Peacock is also interested in professional issues in school psychology and co-authored a book widely used in graduate introduction to school psychology courses (School Psychology for the 21st Century: Foundations and Practices).
