An overview of the application of research and program evaluation in assessing service outcomes. In small groups trainees will discuss and apply this knowledge with a focus on using program evaluation methods to critically review grants targeted at improving services for CYND/RD and how leaders can use techniques to guide decisions.

Autism: Assessment and Diagnosis
1) Discussion of the components of a comprehensive evaluation including the importance of working as an interdisciplinary team
2) Overview of Diagnostic Tools including the ADOS and ADI. (Outside of class, trainees will learn to administer these measures.)
3) Overview of what Medical Evaluation component including: comprehensive history, physical Exam findings, evaluation for suspected secondary autism
4) Discussion of Metabolic and Genetic issues important to consider in evaluation
5) Discussion of Dual Diagnosis
